Inspired by balance, informed by weight.
The design plays with tension and proportion, highlighting how weight and material can create structural integrity. The backrest, shaped like a wooden palette, simply leans into place, held by gravity and angle. Its function speaks of trust in material behavior rather than mechanical fastening.
Designing from what's already proven.
By referencing the way wood is handled, separated, and respected in lumberyards, the piece becomes more than a seat, it becomes a distilled moment of construction culture. There’s poetry in letting the material do what it knows, without forcing anything into place.
Next projects.
